5 Miles Down

Weekend runs are my favorite. I can sleep in, take my time getting ready, let the dog out, and talk myself into running more than a mile (which sounded pretty good to me). Rather than run outside, I opted for the gym. I'm not a big fan of the treadmill, but it's a heck of a lot better than freezing my butt off and fighting the arctic wind. Kali wanted to run, but I wasn't in the mood to freeze or have my arm snap off with her pulling me (I have yet to make a trip to the pet store to get a gentle leader).

After waiting for a treadmill that was in front of the TV I wanted to watch, I stood there contemplating how far I wanted to run. I decided on 5 miles and got it done in an hour, not fast, but better than nothing (LOVE my Brooks running shoes...I won't ever go back to any other brand). And I have a fancy Road ID in case I die while running and someone can identify my body.

When I got home I had my favorite recovery meal, a wheat and gluten free blueberry waffle and chocolate milk (Kali was silently begging for a bite, isn't she adorable). Feeding her people food is one thing I've never budged on, like ever. Dog puke is one thing I don't enjoy cleaning, and since the hubby isn't here it's all me.

I decided to get caught up on some work stuff while uploading WDW Marathon pictures. As they say, work never ends...even if it is the weekend (lucky lucky me). I also got to Face Time with the hubby, which always makes my day! Oh, and if I haven't said it enough, I have the most adorable pets.

How was your weekend? What fun things did you do?

  1. Love the picture of Kali begging for a bite of waffle. I too find running on a treadmill a bit boring but more practical when it is bitter cold outside. I love the look of the Brooks shoe, but find the Asics Kayano as my go to running shoe. More padding for these old feet.

    1. She thinks just because she's cute she will get what she wants...wrong! Hopefully dad will get you a fancy new treadmill so you can run inside more. An wait for the new shoes to be out for purchase...they're beautiful!! :)
